The Baltic Sea held its memory longer than human history had existed.
The evening sunset slowly painted the water with gold, and the waves, one after another, touched the ancient boulders left here by a glacier thousands of years ago. Aliya sat upon one of them. In her hands glowed a massive piece of amber — the Earth Crystal.
Once, it had been the living resin of an ancient forest. Then it turned into stone, survived the changing of epochs, the movement of continents, the birth of civilizations, and a long journey to this shore. Inside the amber, tiny creatures were frozen forever — the first witnesses to life in Earth’s distant past.
